Kaushik, a timid and complaisant young man, lives under the weight of his father's dream to become a doctor, a dream he never truly wants. His life takes a mysterious turn when a mischievous incident at college brings him in contact with a skeletal figure, triggering a strange, commanding voice within him. As the voice grows stronger, Kaushik's behavior becomes erratic and dangerous, leading his concerned family to seek help. While some suggest possession by a spirit, Dr. Shraddha, a psychiatrist, diagnoses him with mental illness. However, traditional remedies take precedence as the family turns to a Muslim Shaman and later a tantrik, Panigrahi, to cure Kaushik. The story unfolds as the malevolent spirit within Kaushik, identified as Ghatikachalam, reveals his gruesome past and his desire to protect Kaushik from a similar fate. The family goes into hiding, desperately attempting to contain Ghatikachalam's influence. It is only through Dr. Shraddha's intervention that the truth emerges -- Ghatikachalam is a real person, not a spirit, and still alive.Kaushik's own obsession with unsolved cases led to his creation of Ghatikachalam as a coping mechanism. With the right treatment and support, Kaushik emerges from the darkness of his altered reality and schizophrenia, finally becoming a normal person.
