Our Galaxy Theatres communities are comprised of a variety of different audiences. We most commonly find families looking to spend time together, and we cherish the moments we get to partake in meaningful family interactions at the theatre. 2020 is giving families even more opportunities to visit Galaxy Theatres with the amount of family-friendly films arriving this year! Our 15 Galaxy Theatres locations are preparing for these upcoming films and hoping to make the most of the moments we’ll get to enjoy together!  

Families are going to love seeing the fantasy/adventure Dolittle on January 17. Dr. John Dolittle’s only companions following a tragic loss include his closest friends, which consist of a macaw, a gorilla, a polar bear, an ostrich, a duck, a dog, a squirrel, a Bengal tiger, a giraffe, a fox, and so many more furry friends. This perfect family-friendly film will be a treat for everyone. We’ll have all paws on deck to make it the best family movie-outing to start us off this year!

A character we’ve all been waiting for since its initial announcement in the winter of 2018 is Sonic the Hedgehog! This sci-fi adventure film is based on a video game franchise that most kids know and love. Sonic, with the help of his human friend, must find a way to prevent an evil doctor from capturing him and using his powers for world domination. Sonic will be speeding into theatres on February 14!

On March 6, Onward will be journeying to the big screen when two teenage elf brothers seek out some type of magic that could help them spend a joyful day with their late father. This emotional fantasy film will remind us of the importance of family. Who better to see it with than our loved ones? Stay tuned for ticket updates coming soon!

Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway is hopping towards Galaxy Theatres on April 3. In the continuation following the charming events that unfolded in the first film, Peter Rabbit and his friends get into more mischief as Thomas and Bea enjoy their honeymoon. This feisty rabbit runs away from his garden home only to cause chaos that only this furry friends and family can help him get out of.

Get ready to rock out with the whole family on April 17 because Trolls World Tour is giving us a new feel-good adventure! When new troll tribes are discovered over six different lands, our beloved characters from the original film, Poppy and Branch, voiced by Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake, set out on a mission to unite the trolls and save the new melodies from extinction. Which troll character do you identify as most? Are you sweet and optimistic like Poppy? Are you good-hearted and overcautious like Branch? Do you love country music like Hickory and Dickory? Or do you prefer hard rock like Thrash or Riff? We can’t wait to find out later this spring!

Is anyone craving a Scooby Snack? Luckily, SCOOB! is on the case this May! The newest cast of our favorite mystery solvers include Zac Efron as Fred, Gina Rodriguez as Velma, Will Forte as Shaggy, Amanda Seyfried as Daphne, and Frank Welker as Scooby. Can’t wait to see what challenging mystery the crew takes on this year!

Are you ready for some new SpongeBob in 2020? “Aye-aye, Captain!” The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run follows Spongebob and Patrick’s journey through the lost city of Atlantic City to solve the mysterious kidnapping of Gary the snail. The fun starts in May, so join us for a laugh out loud comedy adventure that is sure to unite the entire family.

The last film on our list so far is Soul! This fantasy adventure from Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures witnesses a mundane middle-school teacher dream of living a more extraordinary life – one that includes playing at a legendary New York jazz club! When his soul becomes separated from his body, he must find his true passion before returning to the real world.

This takes us through the first half of 2020, and we’re excited to see what else is revealed for the later part of the year. We can’t wait for all of the fun family-filled movie theatre visits that will take place at Galaxy Theatres this year. See you soon!
