One does not simply stay calm when he or she finds out that the Lord of the Rings trilogy is on its way to Galaxy Theatres! That’s right, the month of September is demanding your full and undivided attention as some of the most exciting films are being featured in our upcoming schedule. The kids are back in school and the adults are out to play! Join us every Sunday and Wednesday to catch classics back on the big screen for our Flashback Cinema Program!

We’re absolutely thrilled and honored to be showing the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy back on the big screen this month. Even more exciting is that we’ll be featuring all three extended editions with additional footage not seen in the original theatrical versions. With 17 overall Academy Awards® throughout the trilogy, and an epic cast that includes Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Ian McKellan, Sean Bean, Liv Tyler, Sean Astin, Cate Blanchett, Andy Serkis, and Viggo Mortensen, you’ll want to make sure to be in the audience when the trilogy returns to theatres.

Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (2001) played at our theatre on Sunday, September 1 and Wednesday, September 4. We joined young Hobbit, Frodo, along with his companions in the fellowship, as they set out on a journey to destroy the powerful One Ring and save Middle Earth from the Dark Lord Sauron.

In Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002), Frodo continues his quest to destroy the One Ring, but many new obstacles pose as serious threats. Join us on Sunday, September 8 and Wednesday, September 11 as a now divided fellowship makes a stand and the War of the Ring begins.

On Sunday, September 15 and Wednesday, September 18, the trilogy will conclude with Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003). Who will be here when the final confrontation between the forces of good and evil fight for control of the future of Middle-earth?

Where are our cinema buffs at? This film noir classic from 1941 perfectly accompanies concepts of mystery and crime. You won’t want to miss the chance to see Humphrey Bogart’s iconic role as detective Sam Spade as he takes on an entangled journey to retrieve the priceless statuette of a bejeweled falcon before other mysterious and secretive individuals get to it first. The film received three Academy Awards® and the partnership between Humphrey Bogart and Mary Astor will have you listing The Maltese Falcon (1941) as your favorite classic in the film noir genre come Sunday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 25.

The ultimate romantic comedy is arriving at our theatre on Sunday, September 29 and Wednesday, October 2. As one of Audrey Hepburn’s most iconic roles, Holly Golightly teaches us about confidence and love, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961) lets us explore the world through a New York City socialite’s eyes. Make sure to keep your eye out for some of the most memorable attributes of this film: all of the Givenchy dresses worn by Hepburn’s character and the Academy Award® winning song, “Moon River.”

We can’t wait for you to join us to catch these classics on the big screen at our theatre this month. See you soon!
